More documenting the day and less typical wedding-y
Yes, I said “wedding-y”, and yes that’s a direct quote from one of my favorite brides. Are you getting married but don’t want a “wedding photographer”? What does that even mean?
Yes to capturing lots of candid moments, emotion, and personality during your wedding!
You are giving a pass to all the formal, traditional wedding stuff, and planning an elopement or wedding that’s super personal. You want a photographer who is great at catching all the little moments you’ll want to remember, and less concerned about posing everyone perfectly.
Yes to City Hall, a spot by the Schuylkill, your backyard, a Philly restaurant, you name it!
Just tell me where and I’ll be there. I’ve found the location or size of the wedding matters much less than the vibe of the couple and whether my style fits what you want.
No to lots of posed portraits, super stylized images, and sweating the formality.
Will we still take the requisite posed photos, the big group shots with all your favorite people in one place? Yes, those are important. But we’re not going to toss your dress in an imaginary breeze, and we’re not going to waste time on aspirational photos that don’t tell the story of your day. I want you to be present in the moments of your day and let me worry about making photos of those memories.
And if you love those wedding with a capital W type photos, no shade! I’d be happy to refer you to friends who do this so well! It’s just not my thing 😉
“Rachel is the REAL DEAL. She is smart, kind, incredibly skilled, and incredibly agile. (Seriously, who manages to stop rush hour traffic with their body while photographing you passing the Chinatown gate in full wedding attire?!). Thought I was nervous about feeling self-conscious or performative on my wedding day, I needn't have worried. Rachel put me and my fiance totally at ease. She knew how to be invisible in quiet moments. She knew how to herd family gently to keep us on time. She understood all kinds of light. (A Reading Terminal Market reception at night never looked so good.) She super understood joy. We feel incredibly lucky to have worked with her and can't recommend her highly enough if you are looking for beautiful, playful, joyful wedding photos that really tell a story..”

“Rachel is amazing, such a pro. I already knew she was good but I was just so so impressed. She was everywhere and all of our photos were full of our personality, she is a wizard at capturing people (and KIDS!!). You will not regret hiring her, definitely feels like we lucked out and I'm looking forward to more life events being photographed by her!”

“Rachel did an amazing job taking photos for our wedding this summer! We started with group photos, and she had wonderful positive energy that put everyone in a good mood. Then for portraits, she helped ease my and my spouse’s nervousness about the big occasion by coaching us to pose with confidence. Throughout the ceremony she got so many action shots and cool angles without us even noticing, bravo! We received the photo files quickly and they came out excellent! So glad Rachel helped capture the joy of our special day.👏”
